Art in the Days of Corona: What An Opportunity!

Art in the Days of Corona can be one of the greatest opportunities of our lives. What can you do while social distancing from home, to make yourself the best you’ve ever been?

Being Creative, Making Art brings us back to our bodies, our senses, and our youth. Our body remembers the endless days of possibilities, freedom, and joy. Just the smell of art supplies can bring us right back to a simpler time. Rifle a pack of construction paper, open play dough (it Is still around!), or that new box of crayons, and you’re transported back to a time of unbound coloring, drawing, and art making.

I’m seeing Creativity flourish as we social distance ourselves, wear masks properly, and wash our hands thoroughly. Ideas are everywhere. Challenges have sprung up in every area. Who can make the most interesting cake with the ingredients you have on hand? Can you measure up to the 50 pushups in 30 days contest? Doing these with friends, online of course, increases the focus! Sure there are jigsaw puzzles, things to knit, and many books to read.

But besides my paintings, I’ve just jumped deeply into a whole new realm. With lots of help, my website, Pat Gullett Design-Dragonfly Art Studio is being completely updated. It’s beautiful. And puts me in a learning curve like nothing else. I’m expanding, creating, and implementing elements, images, and thoughts like never before. I’m seeing that everything has a life of its own.

So as I immerse in my own personal challenge, my upcoming Dragonfly Art Program will appear bit by bit. Come over to Dragonfly and explore for yourself. Sign up to receive these Art Tips every Sunday along with art videos, inspiration, and updates of our monthly Art Play. What would you like to see, do, and experience in the Dragonfly Art Program? How can you make this the most creative time of your life? What will you do to come out of this better than ever? Let’s share this conversation. I’d love to hear from you.
