4 Reasons Art is needed Today more than ever begins with keeping you in balance. I know it feels like we’re hiding in the alley, in some scary Marvel movie. Plus, the invisible enemy is a huge monster that keeps mutating! But that’s out there. Our power lies within. The inner journey is what heals, changes your story, and fills your soul.
First of all, doing art happens in this moment of time. Everything you think and put your attention on, affects your whole body. The pandemic, civil unrest, and economic uncertainty can leave us drifting alone on a sea of sadness. This is the outer world. For your own health sake, don’t hang out there for long. Doing Art grounds you in the present. News is yesterday, uncertainty is tomorrow. Live in the now by doing art today.
Secondly, getting away from all the thinking and shifting to DOING art changes your mindset. Thinking keeps you moving in circles. There are no easy answers for you to solve the problems of the world. But, there’s plenty you can do with Art to change your focus. Art can carry you to a different world for hours at a time. Heal by increasing your good happy body chemicals as your whole body responds to colors, marks, and wonderment. It’s personal. You never stop learning and growing doing art.
Third of the 4 reasons art is needed today is that Art puts you in the world of feeling. How do you want to feel today? It’s all about You. There are as many opinions out there as there are people. Let them find their own way. You focus on discovering yourself, your path. Art is a great way to do that.
How you do art is how you live your life. Are you willing to try new things? Can you take a risk without knowing how it will turn out? Do you compare yourself to others or seek approval from others to validate what you do? Are you able to complete what you started? All signs to learning how you approach life.
And finally, doing art changes your story. Art can save you, make you more aware, and keep you moving forward. You make decisions, feel satisfaction in the process, and create a memory of this precious day in your life. Doing art creates Magic. Only doing gets you to stop thinking.
Doing art slows down time. With art in hand, you become a more confident person. This attitude extends out to everything you do. Your power increases since you only have control over what you do today.
