A Creative Way to Learn Art

A Creative way to learn art, and a fun one, is to watch me paint Live! The above painting was done Friday, at the Dragonfly Art Club free group, at 2:00. As a matter of fact, I’m planning on doing a Live each Friday at 2:00. Come join me to find out about different techniques, composition, scale, balance, and other artsy things.

I have some new equipment to play with for Lives that help a lot. There was so much to learn when everyone was just saying ‘press the button!’ Now I can switch around lighting, make art, show media, and it all works. I’m still trying to figure out how to first welcome people to my studio, and then turn the camera down to the art table.

If I had recorded the whole first week of FB Live attempts, I would have a comedy show. Tripods fell, images were sideways, images of me staring intently to find the End/Finish button. Not knowing if it was recording or even on. It’s a great learning experience. As is art. You either win or learn.

I believe you can still see the making of this painting over at Dragonfly Art Club, as a video. It’s hard to predict if an art project will be successful, overworked, or a bomb when you’re Live. Anything can happen, and I guess that’s the fun of it.

Another Creative way to learn art is to sign up to the Art of Creativity membership site the next time it opens. I’m not sure when that will be, but this the place to find out first.

I want to thank you all for being here, and ask a favor. When I do another Live, what would you like to see made? Any theme that is your favorite?

So head on over to Dragonfly Art Club to see Live paintings, info, and art inspiration. I’d also encourage you to ‘Like’ my Page Art of Pat Gullett Designs, if you can. Lot’s happening there with every InstaGram I post also appearing on that page.

Thanks again. Stay safe. It’s not over yet. Stay home, Make Art! Let me know what you think below.
